The Innocent Half 2026: New Route, New Records
Grins, glory and charity cheer
What a morning. What a venue. What a brand new route.
The Innocent Half found its new home and judging by the smiles, the cheers and the finish line chatter, you loved it as much as we hoped you would. From the first stride to the final sprint, the energy out on the course was something special.
If you want to relive the race or see what you missed, we’ve embedded Run With Stephen’s YouTube video below. This offers a virtual lap of the course.
Leading the charge on the new route and writing their names straight into the record books were James Wiggins of Corstorphine AAC, first male home in 1:15:10, and Kristin Lownie of PH Racing Club, first female home in 1:25:45. Both have set the course records for the new layout. What a way to christen it. The full results are live on our website.
A huge well done to everyone who ran. You were brilliant.
If your Garmin or Strava showed a slightly shorter route, don’t panic. The signal tends to dip in and out in the Innocent Tunnel. We can assure you that you completed the full half marathon distance.
We are also delighted to share a charity update. Together, you have helped us raise £1,023 for three very deserving Scottish children’s charities: Firefly International, Kidney Kids Scotland and Richmond’s Hope. Thank you for your generosity. It makes a real difference.
A huge thank you goes to QMU for hosting us so brilliantly, to our fantastic team of marshals who kept everything running smoothly out on the route, and to Fife Medical Group for providing first aid support.
Photos from the Innocent Half are now ready for you to browse. Prepare to find yourself either grinning or grimacing. Huge thanks to Mike for the fab shots:
We can’t wait to cheer you over another finish line in 2026. If today was a step towards a bigger race, why not check out next month’s 20 Along the Forth for another chance to test yourself? If we don’t see you there, best of luck with the rest of your training and the big day ahead.
