St Patrick’s Day 5K @ The Meadows

Runner wearing green in the Blast 5K at the Meadows on st Patrick's Day

Sunshine, Speed and Green at Our St Patrick’s Day 5K

What a day for it. Blue skies, sunshine, and just enough breeze to keep things interesting at our St Patrick’s Day 5K at The Meadows.

A brilliant 87 runners joined us on the start line, bringing energy, colour, and plenty of green to mark the occasion. It had all the makings of a proper spring run. Light, lively, and full of good spirits from start to finish.

The course served up its usual mix of fast stretches and a cheeky bit of wind to keep everyone honest. Whether you were chasing a PB or just soaking up the atmosphere, it felt like one of those days where running simply clicks.

And of course, no St Patrick’s Day event would be complete without a little celebration at the finish. We’ll say nothing about post race Baby Guinness choices or any noticeable dip in afternoon productivity.

A huge thank you goes to our brilliant marshals Issy, Richard, Kathryn, Kuan, Charlie, Brian and Alan. As always, they kept everything running smoothly and supported runners every step of the way.

We are also delighted to share that £75 was raised for Scran Academy. Their work focuses on giving young people the tools, confidence and opportunities to build their futures. It is a cause rooted in real impact and we are proud to support it.

On the results front, we are keeping things short and sweet here. Read the full race results, with a special mention here for our overall winners

Male Winner
Dorian Horsten in an impressive 15:40

Female Winner
Sophie Whittaker Young in a strong 18:50

Outstanding running from both.

Thank you to everyone who came along, ran hard, cheered loudly, and made the event what it was. Days like this remind us why the Edinburgh running community is such a special one.

Next up, we look ahead to a firm favourite. Join us on 12th May for our Cherry Blossom 5K. If it is anything like this one, you will not want to miss it.
