(Last updated 02/06/2026)

Race Briefing: 5 minutes before event

Race Start: Kids 1K: 10:00am
Race Start: 5K/10K:
 10:30am

Registration

Registration will take place between 8.45 - 10am, where you will collect your timing chip, race number and safety pins. Come along to the gazebos on Silverknowes Prom, in front of the Almond House Lodge (The travellers have set up camp at our start / finish area so we have decided to move the start / finish to the tall Scot's Pines in front of the Almond House Lodge, which some of you will know is actually up on Marine Drive but just so you have a point of reference.. the run is def on the prom below it!).

If you have a friend who is planning to ENTER ON THE DAY please ask them to come along by 9.30am to secure their place.

For safety reasons, we will be asking you to wear a number on your outer layer of clothing and it will correlate with the emergency details you have provided. As with all events, please do not swap this with other participants, if you are involved in a medical situation we can use your information to get you the help you need.

Baggage

Unsecured baggage storage will be available at registration. The race organisers take no responsibility for any items stored before, during or after the race.

Race Briefing

There will be a race safety briefing given to all runners 5 minutes before the event to go over any safety issues and give the opportunity for runners to ask any questions.

We are being set off by Scottish Rugby legend, Chris Paterson, who has very kindly taken up the role following the recent passing of Scott Hastings, whom some of you will have met last year. We are very grateful to Chris for stepping in as the ambassador for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation for this fundraising event. As many of you will know, Chris is a former professional rugby union player who played for Scotland and, for the most part of his career, Edinburgh. Paterson is Scotland's record points scorer with 809 points and second most-capped male player with 109 caps.

Race Route

This is a 'figure of  8' looped event, you will firstly head Westwards towards Cramond, and then back along the prom towards Granton, where you run around Gypsy Brae Recreation Ground and back to the start/finish area. The 5K is one loop, the 10K is 2 loops, STRAVA map is here.

Age restrictions

This is a Scottish Athletics Licenced event: for the 5K, runners should be 11 years and over and for the 10K, the runners should be 15 years and over.

Wheeled Options - wheelchairs, running frames, buggies

This route is flat, tarmac, no obstacles, no vehicles so if you'd like to run with your wheelchair, running frame or buggy this is allowed but the ultimate responsibilty for the care and wear and tear on your equipment is your own.

Dogs

Unfortunately our insurance will not cover running with your four legged friends.

Catering

We have booked an ice cream van and a coffee van for the event, which will be pay-as-you-go. We will be offering a water station and Taylor's Crisps have kindly donated a bag of crisps for every runner. As this event takes place in an open park, there are no taps, so please bring your own water for the finish line to quench your thirst!

Race Results

Your results will be emailed to you in the afternoon of the event and will also be posted here.

Prize Giving

All runners will receive an event medal at the finish line!

Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed Male and Female for the 5K and 10K

Car Parking

There is free parking on Marine Drive, West Shore Road and the Cramond Beach Car Park.

Toilets

There will be portaloos for your use at the event but please bear in mind that there will be queues as you all need at the same time!

Who are we fundraising for?

We are fundraising for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and the kids 1K is for Cramond Primary School sports equipment fund.
