Halloween Trail Half 2026: Spooktacular Running!
After what felt like a month of weather warnings and winds howling through the trees, the weather gods finally smiled on us for the Halloween Trail Half Marathon on Saturday 31 October!
With the worst of the weather behind us, runners could let loose and run amok through the fields and woodlands in their Halloween fancy dress. And what a fantastic effort everyone made with their costumes! From spooky to spectacular, you certainly brought plenty of Halloween spirit to the trails. We loved seeing you all embracing the fun and proving that there's a big kid lurking inside every runner!
The route provided a wonderful setting for a Halloween adventure, with runners enjoying the trails, woodland and autumn surroundings. There was plenty of atmosphere along the way, thanks to our brilliant team of marshals and spooky characters cheering everyone on and keeping the Halloween fun alive.
Congratulations to our Halloween Trail Half winners!
A huge well done to everyone who took part, and a special mention to our prize winners for some fantastic running.

Spooky miles, brilliant fundraising!
It wasn't just the fancy dress that made this event special. Between our runners, supporters and volunteers, an amazing £800+ was raised for South Queensferry RNLI!
That's a fantastic result and a brilliant reminder that a little Halloween fun can go a long way. Every entry, every helping hand and every bit of support helped make a difference to this fantastic local cause.
Well done to everyone who played their part. You should be proud!
A huge thank you to our Halloween crew!
A brilliant event takes a brilliant team, and Halloween Trail Half was no exception!
Our marshal crew were absolute stars: Issy, Lesley, Amira, Rory, Kuan, Bob, Peter, Frankie, Norman, Kate, Chiara, Laurie, June, John, Jenna, Gayle, Sharon, Reuben, Rosie, Richard, Zoe, Maia and Chris. Looking spooktacular, keeping everyone safe and cheering runners along the way. We couldn't have done it without you!
Working alongside them were Kathryn, our Chief Marshal, Kevin on tail cycling duties, and Raine, Annie, Ian and Courteney, who brought some extra Halloween thrills as our spooky actors. Fiona and Gill kept the website and email cogs turning behind the scenes.
The event was hosted with the help of Longcraig Scout Centre, with Corstorphine First Aid on hand, Edinburgh Council providing the necessary licences and permits, and Friends of Cammo and Rosebury Estates making our wonderful route possible. Reapers Rum also supplied the perfectly apt prizes!
Capturing all the action were James from Appin Media on video and Michael Philp behind the camera. Look out for their footage and photos on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
And setting the scene at the start was Shona White, with her brilliant Halloween musical medley. Quite the soundtrack to send our runners off on their spooky adventure!
What a team effort. You really are the best crew around!
